A little update...

Once again it has been some time since I have posted on our blog. Please accept my sincere apologies. ;) As always things have been a little crazy around here and blogging still hasn't made it to the top of my list, but I have about an hour to kill until my next class so I thought a little update was in order.

Mac got a job working at the golf course which was a huge relief on our finances and on my stress level, not to mention a very helpful tax return. He seems to like it and I think he's played more golf in the last month than he has in the last two years combined. I'm still working at the bank and am currently training my replacement. She's really nice and I think she'll do well. Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for the bank, she is a fast learner. So whenever she is at the bank she uses my drawer since that's the one she'll be working out of. Because of this I get to sit around and do nothing. I do homework if I have it and finals are coming up but you can only study so much. Nights are the worst because its just the two of us and she helps all the customers so she gets as much practice as possible. So once again I find myself sitting around twiddling my thumbs. It's unfortunate now but I am grateful that the people I work for are more than willing to give me my job back when we get back from Alaska.

Speaking of Alaska! Only two more weeks until we take off for our wonderful summer "job". Mac talked to Mel and Sharon the other day and told them that we take our last test on the 14th and they promptly replied with, "so can you leave on the 15th?" Technically we could but we have made plans to go to Spokane for a stake temple day. So it looks like we will be leaving sometime after the 16th! I'm definitely looking forward to it. It will be so nice spending my mornings and part of the afternoon fishing next to Mac and just enjoying each others company. And then working with each other. It's basically a 2nd honeymoon and I can't wait!!

In other news....My parents are moving to Utah. My dad got a job as the Mohawk flooring representative down there and so they are beginning the craziness of getting the house ready to sell and sorting through everything to pack and getting ready for the big move. Right now they're working on staining all the new trim and base pieces but the weather hasn't been cooperating so they've been staining it inside and I'm pretty sure the smell will never dissipate. I'm excited for them to move but unfortunately that means that we have to pack all of our stuff that we're not taking with us to Alaska and find a place for it. The only bright side is that maybe I'll get rid of some of our junk that we don't use anymore! (keep your fingers crossed for me!)

So, Mac is on this crazy diet right now. I was a little concerned about it because he only gets about 500 calories per day and he can only eat certain foods which has extreme potential for grouchiness. Thankfully he hasn't been too groughy. He has definitely had his moments but all in all he has been wonderful. Since he started his diet he hasn't really been able to cook like he likes to. So the other day he called me at work and the first thing he says, "Can I cook for you tonight?" Now tell me, what wife in her right mind would turn down the opportunity of not cooking? Granted I don't cook a whole bunch because Mac likes it more than I do but still, I was excited! Of course I submitted to his request and had an amazing grilled pork tenderloin, that he basted with some kind of glaze, a vegetable stock risotto and fresh green beans. It was delicious! Needless to say he is probably the best husband ever!
